Colleagues from Boots UK are celebrating the opening of their brand new, relocated pharmacy on Wellhall Road in Hamilton, with an official ribbon cutting ceremony alongside Margaret Mitchell, regional MSP. 

Located within walking distance of Wellhall Surgery, customers and patients in the local community will be able to make the most of Hamilton’s modern, new Boots pharmacy for all their healthcare essentials.

Along with a brand new dispensary, private consultation room and modern waiting area, the team of dedicated pharmacists and pharmacy support colleagues will be on hand to dispense patients’ prescriptions, as well as offer valuable healthcare advice and information on over the counter medicines, right in the heart of the Hillhouse community.

Chloe Goodbrand, Store Manager, Boots in Hamilton Hillhouse, comments: “We understand that our customers really value having accessible healthcare close by, so I’m delighted that we have been able to secure a new unit in Hamilton, where our pharmacy team will be able to continue to welcome the local community in for all of their prescription and pharmacy services needs.

“While it was never our intention to have to relocate the store, unfortunately our lease with the landlord came to an end, and they weren’t willing to offer us a renewal or extension. I’d like to thank our team for their incredible support and the local health board in helping us to find and transfer the license at such short notice, making sure that there was no disruption in care for our patients.

“Hamilton welcomed its very first Boots store in June 1922, and over 95 years later, our dedicated team of healthcare professionals are still just as passionate about supporting our patients, and meeting the healthcare needs of the local community.”

The store was opened today at an official ribbon cutting ceremony by Central Scotland MSP Margaret Mitchell, who said: “It was a pleasure and privilege to help open the new Hamilton store, the team work tirelessly to provide first-class primary care services in the community and I hope customers will benefit even further from the facilities in store.”

The store’s friendly pharmacy team will also offer expert advice on an extensive range of pharmacy services, including Minor Ailments, Stopping Smoking, Chronic Conditions and Travel Health, along with men’s and women’s health services.

What’s more, customers will also be able to access the entire health and beauty range at Boots, including Premium brands and cosmetics, by using the store’s next day Order and Collect Service*.
