Anne Hand from Boots UK in Dungannon scooped the Medicines Counter Assistant Award at the Pharmacy in Focus Awards, in recognition for her outstanding customer service and exceptional work in the local community.
In addition to her standard pharmacy duties, Anne works very closely with the diverse community in Dungannon, helping them understand how to make the best use of healthcare services available locally.
Boots in Dungannon is also the palliative care pharmacy for the local community and Anne frequently goes above and beyond her role to ensure vulnerable patients and their families’ get the best quality of care at all times. She is known to frequently visit the patients after-hours to deliver medication or simply to offer care and support to the patient and their family.
The Pharmacy in Focus Awards, which are the highlight of the community pharmacy year, saw more than 350 professionals gather at Crowne Plaza, Shaw’s Bridge, Belfast on Saturday night to not only celebrate pharmacists’ achievements, but to dance and network the night away at the thirteenth annual UCA-NI Dinner.
