The Royal Pharmaceutical Society  (RPS) has accredited Boots UK Professional Learning and Development as an RPS Foundation Training Provider, recognising the quality of training we offer.

The Boots Foundation programme is primarily aimed at newly qualified pharmacists, but can be used to support the development of pharmacists who are new to the company and those who have returned to practice after a period of absence.

Boots UK believes the professional development of our pharmacists is vital to deliver exceptional, patient-centred care in every Boots store to every patient.

Marc Donovan, Chief Pharmacist at Boots UK comments; “This is fantastic news for all of our pharmacists, who continually seek to develop their capability in order to make a huge difference to people’s lives. To have our training recognised externally in this way supports our ambition of providing complete care to every person and we are privileged to be awarded RPS Accredited Foundation Trainer Provider status. ”

Dr. Catherine Duggan, RPS Director of Professional Development comments: “We are delighted to award Boots UK Professional Learning and Development accreditation status as a Foundation Training Provider. Both the RPS and Boots share the vision to support pharmacists in their early careers to be the best they can be. RPS Foundation Training Provider accreditation recognises the commitment to excellence that Boots Foundation pharmacist training and development meets the highest possible standards.”

In line with existing standards, RPS accredited Foundation training providers are required to undertake a rigorous process of quality assurance and showcase their training and development resources against a set of agreed principles. Accreditation is valid for up to 5 years with annual reviews and developments against recommendations linked to the approval process.
