Care services

Boots Care Services has been helping care homes to manage their residents' health needs for over 30 years. During this time, our service has continued to grow in supporting care homes to deliver the best possible healthcare for their residents.

Boots Care Services supports residents and care teams with expert healthcare advice and regular visits from experienced pharmacists to meet the highest of standards required by regulators.

We also provide an exclusive and valuable learning package for our carers and nurses with a suite of resources, including a wide range of topics and up-to-date patient-centred content, as well as a number of medication management modules.

We continue to strive to make the lives of patients better tomorrow than they are today.

eMAR at Boots Care Services

Boots continues to lead the way in digital innovation with successful implementations as more and more care home organisations switch from paper-based to electronic medicines administration record (eMAR) systems.

Here are some of the benefits of using eMAR at Boots:

  • eMAR allows a person-centred approach to how medication is administered
  • Reduction in medication round times
  • Increased completion of PRN follow-ups
  • Reduction in time needed for medicine associated tasks e.g. booking in medication

Our dedicated Boots Digital Specialists deliver training and implementation support that is incredibly flexible, allowing us to give you a fully tailored implementation approach. Also, because care settings have varying needs we offer different eMAR software solutions, understanding your preferences in order to find the right solution for you. We currently offer eMAR solutions on the Access, MED e-careOmnicell and VCare platforms.

If you are a care home and are interested in these services, speak to one of our team and we will work with you to identify the needs of your care home, and the most suitable options for you. Call our Care Services team on 0115 949 4047 or email care.services@boots.co.uk. For eMAR enquiries please email emar@boots.co.uk

Training

Our Boots Care Learning platform, which is exclusively for Boots Care Services customers, has been available for over eight years and hosts more than 70 eLearning courses. Our platform is endorsed by Skills for Care - a bespoke quality mark given to the best learning and development providers within the adult social care sector.*

Our mission is to help care workers to develop skills and knowledge that in turn will support their service users. Our high-quality core courses allow care workers to develop confidence around the different aspects of medicines-handling and work safety.

In addition, our condition-focused care courses offer an in-depth look at more prominent conditions within care settings such as diabetes and dementia. Our commitment to quality means that all courses are regularly reviewed and content is updated in line with new guidance and information to help care settings meet the highest standards required by regulators. We recognise that not everyone learns in the same way and therefore there are many different types of learning including videos, interactive modules and e-tests to suit all learners.

Care home managers can request access to Boots Care Learning by emailing bootscarelearninghelp@boots.co.uk
