Go big on your holiday essentials this Summer with the Boots Order & Collect Service

Summer holiday packing season is almost upon us! When you’re struggling for space after squeezing your new outfits, beach towel and sandals into your suitcase, you don’t want to have to compromise on looking and feeling great. With the help of the Boots Order & Collect Airside service, you can save room and pick up your toiletries and sun care in the airport departure lounge hassle-free.

Boots UK has calculated what essential toiletries you’ll need to last you for a week’s holiday. Whether you’re travelling short or long haul, to Barcelona or Barbados, you won’t need to worry about running out of your favourite moisturiser or shampoo and can avoid a last minute dash around the supermarket!

1)     Don’t risk running out of Sun protection

When you’re heading for a week in the sun, it’s important to make sure your skin has adequate protection from the sun’s harmful rays. For each limb, you’ll need one teaspoon of product per application1. Based on this, Boots UK have worked out that you’ll need two bottles per person of Boots Soltan Once Lotion 200ml (£9) sun cream and Boots Soltan in Shower After Sun Cooling Lotion with Cucumber (£4) to keep you going for a week-long trip. Clare O’Connor, Boots Skincare Expert says: “Sun cream is the most important product to have with you on holiday, the sun’s harmful UV rays as you can burn on a cloudy day, so protection is essential.”

2)     Fight the Frizz

With humidity, salty water and sand, you may find yourself washing your hair more than normal to keep it looking fresh. Boots UK have worked out that for a week long holiday (and using the recommended 2.5cm circle amount2) you’ll need one 300ml bottle of shampoo – you might even have some spare for when you come home. If you’re more likely to wash your hair every other day, Batiste Marrakech Dry Shampoo (£2.99), is the perfect product to keep your hair looking fresh between washes.

3)     Keep your skin clear

Whether you’ve been mooching around a new city or spending the day at the beach, your skin will likely be in need of a good scrub to ensure your face is clean after a day of using sun cream. Using a pea sized amount3 in the morning and evening will clean out those pores and keep your skin looking radiant. With Boots Order & Collect you can take away a full size 100ml bottle of your favourite Liz Earle Cleanse & Polish Hot Cloth Cleanser (£14).

4)     No more panda eyes

We know that with all the swimming, sweating and humidity in the air, you’re going to want a failsafe waterproof mascara. A Waterproof mascara like No7 Intense Volume Waterproof Mascara (£9.95) means you need a reliable makeup remover that will gently remove every last trace before bed. No7 advisor Samantha Greeves says: “Waterproof mascaras are a lifesaver when you want a touch of makeup whilst by the pool but don’t want to worry about getting panda eyes. Removing it can be more of a challenge if you’re not prepared. The eye area is one of the most delicate on the face so it’s important to be really gentle when removing makeup. I suggest soaking one cotton wool pad with No7 Beautiful Skin Eye Make-Up Remover (100ml) (£8.50) for each eye. Then simply sweep across the eyes- never scrub.”

5)     Keep those teeth pearly white

Realised that everyone on your trip thought the other one had packed the toothpaste, and now you’re stuck with a travel size between the whole family for the week? With Boots Order & Collect Service you can add your favourite toothpaste and mouthwash to your list of toiletries to collect post check in. For a week long holiday and using a pea-size amount4, a 75ml tube will be plenty for a family of four.

To make sure that all your holiday essentials arrive on time, make sure you place your order five days before you travel.
