- Boots is helping customers to find solutions for all 40 signs and symptoms of the menopause
- Customers are now able to access prescription only treatment for menopause symptoms through the Boots Online Doctor Service
- All Boots pharmacists and team members will have access to specialist menopause training
In line with World Menopause Awareness Day (18 October), Boots is helping customers to find solutions for their menopause symptoms as quickly and easily as possible. With over 40 different signs and symptoms of the menopause, the retailer is introducing new ways to help customers to find the right products or services, or to access the right advice.
Boots has launched a new dedicated menopause page on boots.com that allows customers to shop by symptom, making it easier and more accessible to find the right product to suit the customer’s personal experience and situation.
A new convenient and discreet menopause service is now also available through the Boots Online Doctor service. It offers women access to Hormone Replacement Therapy (HRT) tablets, patches and gels, and helps them to find the most suitable treatment option for them.* If appropriate, the service can provide quick access to advice and prescription-only medicine without having to see a GP with an online consultation form that can take as little as five minutes to complete. This follows new research from Boots, which revealed that 43% of people who use digital healthcare services would rather seek menopause treatment digitally as they feel it is faster than a GP appointment.**
Bernadette Lavery, Director of Pharmacy, Boots UK says: “People who are struggling with the symptoms of menopause do not need to manage them alone. There are often a lot of questions surrounding menopause and our pharmacists are on-hand to offer support for patients to help them manage it appropriately. The menopause is a natural process, but it is different for everyone. Boots pharmacists are always here to listen and can provide tailored advice and support to help customers deal with their symptoms.”
Boots pharmacists and team members will also have access to specialist online menopause training to help educate them on the signs and symptoms of menopause, to help aid supportive conversations. This will cover all stages, including peri-menopause, menopause and post-menopause.
To coincide with World Menopause Awareness Day, Boots is offering great deals on a range of products to support women dealing with the menopause. For one day only, on Tuesday 19 October customers can purchase a selection of products for just £10 at Boots.com, including Pantene Hair Biology Menopause Hair Thickening & Scalp Soothing Treatment, Nature’s Bounty Beautiful Skin Gummies, and Olay Pro Retinol Eye Treatment. **Research conducted by Censuswide on behalf of Boots among 2,006 UK respondents aged 18-75 that use digital healthcare services – excluding medical professionals – between September 15 and 17, 2021. For the purpose of this survey, the term ‘digital healthcare’ refers to an online service where patients can seek medical advice from a healthcare professional such as GPs, pharmacists and nurses, schedule appointments and be prescribed.
