New research commissioned by Boots shows that four in five women (82%) believe there is better understanding in key areas of women’s health today compared to five years ago and over half (55%) feel more empowered to talk about their health issues as a result.[1]

Three-quarters (75%) think there is better awareness of issues surrounding either fertility or pregnancy today than five years ago, almost two-thirds (61%) think there is better awareness of menopause and almost half (46%) believe there is better awareness of periods.

To highlight the support available, Boots has launched a new campaign called Our Health Is As Individual As We Are’, which champions women’s health and highlights new support available from the health and beauty retailer.

As part of this campaign Boots has expanded its Price Advantage scheme to include a wide range of women’s health products.* These include the Pregnacare and Menopace supplement ranges alongside own brand products from Boots Evening Primrose Oil Capsules and Boots Dual Action Thrush and BV Pessaries to innovative solutions like Boots TENS Digital Pain Relief, which provides temporary safe, drug free relief from period pain.

Boots’ campaign also highlights the expanding number of healthcare services available in store and online. Boots now offers more healthcare services than ever before, having doubled the number of healthcare services it offers in the past three years to 125. This includes over 15 dedicated women’s healthcare services like the Boots Online Doctor Menopause and HRT Treatment service,** which has seen a 235% increase in treated orders in the last year.[2]

The Boots Health Hub has also been enhanced to make it easier for customers to navigate healthcare information, advice, products and services, organised by healthcare conditions. Several new, third-party services are now available via the platform, like My Expert Midwife.***

Boots has also launched new training modules for its 4,500 pharmacists that provide information on four key areas of women’s health: periods, fertility, pregnancy and menopause. The training will help pharmacists to have meaningful conversations with women about their health, including providing advice and suggesting products or services which may be suitable for them.

Claire Nevinson, Superintendent Pharmacist at Boots, said: “At Boots we’ve been championing women’s health for over 170 years. It’s great that over the last few years there’s been more awareness and conversation around women’s healthcare areas like menopause and periods. At Boots, we are taking an active part in that conversation and provide our customers great value products and services that they can conveniently access online and in our stores. Our pharmacists are always on hand to offer expert advice for patients, whatever their healthcare issue.”

Boots’ Our Health Is As Individual As We Are’ campaign is supported by a TV advert that follows several women navigating familiar life moments with the expert help of Boots at their side. Women’s healthcare issues are also discussed in the popular Boots Taboo Talk podcast, which has covered periods, menopause and fertility, among other topics.
