Boots launches Out of Hours shopping slots

13 November 2020
Feature Healthcare
  • Over 31,000 quiet shopping slots available for customers outside of normal store hours, a first for the retailer
  • 45-minute slots available at 83 Boots stores nationwide
  • Shop the whole store, plus access to pharmacist advice, prescription collection and health and wellness products
  • Boots has been voted the safest place to shop on the High Street and is leading the way on customer and colleague safety

Boots has created over 31,000 quiet shopping slots for those who want to pick up the items and advice they need whilst the store is quieter, or for those who cannot make it to store during the day, such as key workers.

The 45-minute bookable slots are available outside of normal store hours and are being offered to customers, including teachers and NHS frontline staff, who may want to shop in store but are not able to visit during usual opening hours. Customers will be able to shop the whole store, and services such as advice from expert pharmacists, prescription collection and access to medicines will also be available during these times.

The quiet shopping slots need to be pre-booked on boots.com, with slots available throughout November and December in 83 stores nationwide.*

Tracey Clements, Chief Operating Officer at Boots UK, says: We have created a safe space for our customers and key workers, who may still wish to do some of their shopping in person. Voted the safest retailer on the high street, the health and safety of our customers and colleagues is the most important thing to us, so we are offering this service to allow customers access to our stores when they are quieter or at times when they are available. As always, our colleagues will be on hand to help customers find what they need and make sure shopping in store is as safe, quick and pleasant as possible.”

For those customers still wanting to shop from the comfort of their home, Boots has also doubled its capacity on boots.com. The website will continue to operate 24 hours a day and customers can get free home delivery on orders over £30.

Visit www.boots.com/quiet-shopping to book a quiet shopping slot at selected Boots stores.

Boots is the UK’s leading health and beauty retailer with over 52,000 team members and 2,100 stores, ranging from local community pharmacies to large destination health and beauty stores.*

Boots serves its customers and patients for life as the leading provider of healthcare on the high street and the UK’s number one beauty destination. It offers an unrivalled depth and breadth of products, which incorporates its extensive own brand range and innovative portfolio of brands, including No7, the UK’s No1 skincare brand, Soap & Glory, Liz Earle Beauty and Sleek MakeUP.

2024 marks Boots’ 175th anniversary year. Founder John Boot opened a herbalist store in Nottingham in 1849 to offer an affordable alternative to traditional medicines. His son Jesse expanded the business to become a modern retailer and the biggest chemist in Britain. Throughout its history, Boots has listened, learned and innovated, and it continues to challenge itself to improve its products and services every day.

Boots is part of Walgreens Boots Alliance, which is a global leader in pharmacy-led, health and wellbeing retail.  More company information is available on boots-uk.com.
